Jumperoo fun, and a very pouty face

He actually enjoys the jumperoo and has been bouncing himself in it. His feet can't touch the floor so we put a box under it for him.

He was done at this point and wanted to tell me so..

Then he gave me the pouty face, just to make sure I understood. This is one of my favorite pictures ever!

Sleep

Emmett has learned how to break out of just about every kind of swaddle. We decided to buy a Woombie and it has worked wonders! I know it looks like a little baby straight jacket, but he smiles when we put him in it.

He has been sleeping about 4 hours, and then waking up to eat. He goes back to sleep fairly easy now though. He was playing tricks on me last night/this morning however. I went in last night to feed him and he was turned sideways in his crib. I was baffled since I didn't think he could move much in the Woombie. Then I went to get him up his morning and he was facing the opposite way that he was when I put him down. I stood there looking confused, while he just smiled at me like nothing had happened. Stinker!

This is how he likes to nap.

In his snugabunny swing with a blanket, paci, and his glowing seahorse. Such a sweet boy! :)

Bath time and play time, our favorite parts of the day!

I'm finally learning how to take better pictures with my camera. I got confused with manual mode and had relied on auto for a long time. I realized that defeated the purpose of having a fancy DSLR camera, so now I'm learning manual! I think it helps that I have a pretty cute subject though. ;)

Bath time! We replaced our plain infant tub with the Fisher Price whale tub, and it is a huge hit with Emmett. He can lean back and relax without one of us holding him. He also has plenty of room to kick his legs and splash water all over Mommy and Daddy.

Play time! We noticed how Emmett would go crazy kicking and wiggling when we put him on the paper lined table at the doctors office. We soon realized it was because he loved the sound the paper made when he moved. We decided to replicate that at home with tissue paper. Of all the toys we have tried, his favorite play time item is now tissue paper.

He was checking himself out in the mirror, and had to smile when he realized how handsome he is. :)

Chicken & Spinach Pasta Bake

This is a recipe I came across on Pinterest, and it was amazing! Justin claims he had never had spinach before, and he really liked it. Will definitely be making this again!

8 oz uncooked rigatoni
1 T olive oil
1 c chopped onion
1 (10 oz) pack frozen spinach, thawed
3 c cubed, cooked chicken breasts
1 (14 oz) can Italian-style diced tomatoes, drained
1 (8 oz) container Philadelphia chive & onion cream cheese
1/2 t salt, 1/2 t pepper
1 1/2 c shredded mozzarella cheese

Prepare rigatoni according to pkg directions. Spread oil on bottom of 11×17 in baking dish; add onion in a single layer. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes or just until tender. Transfer onion to large bowl, set aside.

Drain chopped spinach well, pressing between paper towels. Stir in rigatoni, spinach, chicken, & next 4 ingredients into onion in bowl. Spoon mixture into dish & sprinkle evenly with shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake covered at 375 for 30 minutes; uncover & bake 15 more minutes or until bubbly.

Trying New Things

I can't believe my baby is going to be 2 months old next week. I have to return to work on Feb 7th and I am dreading having to leave him. My boss was ok with me cutting back to 4 days a week though, so that gives me a little more time at home. :)

Emmett has sat in his jumperoo a couple times. He is still too little to really get it, but he does like the music and lights, and to be gently bounced up and down.

And then he fell asleep...

He also loves to sit upright, so we have tried putting him in his highchair. I really love the FP Space saver. It doesn't take up any extra room and it reclines so it's great as a seat and not just for feeding. He likes to sit in it and look around for a little bit.

Love this face...

And this one melts my heart. :)
