Emmett's First Egg Hunt

Saturday we took Emmett to The Great Egg Hunt at our local metropark. I wasn't sure if he would get the concept or not, but he did a great job for his first time. He was too slow to get many eggs, but he was so proud of the ones he did get!

Picking up another egg

He was really, really proud of these two eggs and wandered around holding them for a long time.

Checking out what else he had in his basket!

The park also has a farm center, so we stopped in there after the egg hunt so that Emmett could see the animals. He really loved the donkey.

He liked the donkey so much that he decided to stick his finger right up the poor things nose. So gross.

He kept mooing at the cows, and continued it all the way out to the car.

We also went to the mall so that Emmett could see a non-creepy looking Easter bunny(the one at the egg hunt would have scared me, so we didn't even bother getting in line for that). They don't allow you to take your own pictures and the one we got was pretty sucky. Emmett really liked the bunny though. After the mall we went to dinner, where Emmett acted like a perfect little gentleman. That seriously never happens! He is usually squirming, yelling, throwing spoons, etc. He colored with the crayons they gave him and even ate his vegetables!

Looking spiffy at dinner

When we got home he decided to do what any boy in his dressy clothes would do. Play in the dirt and pick up rocks in the driveway!

He also picked up a new word and can now say "rock"

Busy Week

It's been a busy week, but nothing really exciting has happened. Just the regular day to day stuff. Emmett has finally dropped his second nap and only takes one after lunch now. My little boy is getting big so fast!

He is still playing with the box his wagon came in. It acquired a hole in the top and the other day I saw him gathering all of his blocks and dropping them in through the hole. He then climbed inside and chucked them all out, repeat x5.

Today the weather was awesome and finally felt like spring! Emmett did some walking around and exploring the yard, and also got to go for his first real wagon ride.

He was so happy. He did a lot of squealing!

We decided to finally put some of our professional photos of Emmett to use, so we ordered some canvases for the living room wall. They arrived earlier this week and we finally hung them up tonight. I love them! I am in the process of making a photo book with all of his professional photos, as well as a book with all of our shots from his first year. I have a ton of pictures to go through! Here are the canvases we got. It was so hard to pick which photos to get! The larger one is 16x20 and the smaller ones are 11x14.

Pudding!

One thing Emmett hasn't had much interest in so far is using utensils. We decided to give it a try again today and let him have his first chocolate pudding cup. He did awesome with the spoon, and of course loved the pudding. He made a big mess of himself, but I totally expected that. :) Here are some pictures from his messy pudding fun.

First taste.

He wanted as much pudding on his spoon as possible...

Digging in!

He means business now!

Pretty proud of himself and the mess he made

So now we know he can use a spoon, it's just a matter of him wanting to. We'll keep working on it!

Petting Zoo

We were on the move for most of the day today. First we went to a local home show. They had a petting zoo there for the kids and Emmett LOVED it! He wasn't scared of the animals at all and wandered around petting all of them.

He started with the goats

His favorite was probably the chickens and ducks. He came back to them multiple times

Next up was the donkey. The donkey was way more interested in Emmett than he was in it. He tried to steal Emmett's hat right off of his head! These pictures crack me up because you can see Emmett trying to hold on to his hat in the second one.

His beloved ducks

More goats. This one kept trying to climb over his fence.

A pony!

Emmett wanted to pet this one, but when he tried it shoved him. He didn't mind though.

He looks like such a big boy here.

Back to his favorite ducks

One last visit with the goats before we left!

When we left there we headed to the outlet mall to get Emmett's spring/summer wardrobe. There were a couple sales I wanted to hit up and we got the majority of what he will need for warmer weather at some decent prices. His favorite thing about the outlet mall would be the balloons from Old Navy. We always go back to the dressing area(no idea why they keep them back there) to see if they have any before we leave. He was in luck today!

We came home so he could take a nap and then have dinner. After dinner he went to spend some time with Nana while we went to Home Depot and Lowes to get the rest of the stuff to finish the guest bath, as well as a new light fixture for above the table. That is tomorrow's project!
