Slow Week

We had a slower week here and hung around the house quite a bit.

Emmett was fascinated with his magnifying glass.

Also loving the laundry basket...

Still loving the laundry basket the next day...

He got some new to him stuff at garage sales that he was excited to check out. Climbing the picnic table was first on his agenda when we got outside.

He LOVED the Tonka truck. He was pushing it all around the yard.

He also played with some old favorites. He is a complete master of stairs now!

He was determined to climb up the other slide and get mad when his sandals kept slipping.

Hoping to have a bit more exciting of a weekend with Balloonfest and Sparks in the Park!

Sunday, Fun Day!

We didn't go anywhere today, but we had a lot of fun just hanging around the house/backyard. We got a new splash pad from Target when we were there yesterday, so we decided to give it a try today. We also set up his little pool from last year.

He loved his little pool and climbed right in.

He wasn't sure about his new splash pad at first because the water was so cold...

He quickly discovered that the water from the splash pad could make mud.

He tasted some mud and didn't like it...then he got mad.

Really mad!

After the mud incident, we went inside to clean up and eat some lunch. Emmett took his nap, and when he got up he was ready for round 2! He LOVED the splash pad this time around. :)

Helping fill his pool with some clean water.

Splash pad fun!

Plug the sprinkler...

Unplug the sprinkler! He loved doing that.

Carrying around all of his star fish.

He decided to use the little shade as a tunnel. Smart guy!

 Belly flop into the pool!

Happy boy! :)

After all of his water play, Emmett got to eat his first ice cream cone. He was a big fan! This sequence of pictures cracks me up...

Just chilling in his lawn chair, enjoying his ice cream

Getting a little messy...

And even messier...

He ended up dropping a lot of the ice cream in his lap because he didn't understand that it was melting. He was pretty much covered in chocolate and ice cream. We had to hose him off before we went back inside!

18 Months!

We had Emmett's 18 month photos taken at the beginning of this month. I love them so, so much. I think they are my favorite pictures of him so far. They were taken on the family farm, and I think it's really cool that he can look back at these photos one day and see himself standing in the same spot. He played in the dirt for most of his photo shoot and I was worried the pictures wouldn't turn out, but they are perfect. They are so him. Hands in the dirt, and dirt on his jeans. :)
