7 Months...Way Late!!

I am super late taking these pictures, but hey, at least I took them before he turned 8 months! Looking back at these month pictures, I am in awe at how much he has grown.

Treasure Basket

I've seen this idea around Pinterest, and with the heat index reaching 110 degrees today, we needed something to keep us busy inside. The idea is toss a bunch of random, baby safe household items in a basket and let baby explore them. When Emmett took his morning nap, I grabbed a few things and tossed them in his basket from Easter. We had a pot holder, spatula, measuring cups/spoons, old lock, spoon, empty ring box, cookie cutter, old remote with batteries and back removed, and an unused bottle brush.

He had already snatched the measuring cups and bottle brush out before I could even snap a picture!

He had to taste each measuring spoon. You know, just in case they had different flavors. ;)

 He was puzzled with how heavy this old lock was.

Bye Bye Infant Swing

Our Snugabunny swing was or saving grace in the first few months. It was the only place he would nap as an itty bitty guy, and often calmed him when nothing else would. It definitely proved to be worth the purchase! It's kind of a little bittersweet that we are packing it away today. Apparently Emmett has decided it is some kind of thrill ride now. As soon as I turn it on he turns himself sideways and laughs hysterically. The lap belt can't go any tighter without being too tight, and he has never tolerated the shoulder straps. So, in the closet it goes; with all the outgrown clothes, newborn napper, and other odds and ends he has so quickly outgrown.

4th of July

We didn't make any big plans for July 4th because it was super hot and E gets fussy in the heat for too long. We ended up just having a little cookout with the 3 of us.

Emmett in his outfit. He stayed in the shade of the garage since it was blazing hot outside.

He also got to eat some watermelon while we grilled our food. This was his first time trying watermelon or anything other than baby purees. He loved it!
