First Zoo Trip

Emmet had his first trip to the zoo today. We headed out to the Toledo Zoo to enjoy the beautiful day. We spent over 3 hours there and he did awesome! By the time we left he was down for the count and then slept the whole hour drive home.

I didn't get many pictures, but here are the ones I did take. :)

The seals were the first animal we came to and Emmett found them pretty interesting. We put his stroller right up to the glass and he stared intently when they swam up to him.

He was mildly interested in the giraffes.

The highlight of the trip for him was probably the carousel. I was afraid he would cry because it went so fast, but he really liked it!

He thought the jelly fish changing colors with the light were pretty neat.

Passed out before we could make it to the parking lot

Finished Swing!

Justin finished the swing frame up this week and Emmett got to try his swing outside, instead of the boring garage. We plan to buy an actual play structure in the next year or 2 when Emmett will be able to use it, but for now we just wanted something simple to hang his swing. We had the wood in the garage and figured why not. He made it large enough to add another swing.

Maiden voyage!

Still Cute

Emmett was all giggles yesterday. He was all over the house and just would not sit still! Here are a few random shots from some play time at home.

We also went to the park, but I was by myself with him so I didn't get any pictures. When Daddy got home he hung the swing in the shop/garage for Emmett. He is building a swing frame for him, but it isn't finished yet. Here are some shots of Emmett in his new swing. Ignore the mess that is the shop.

We also tried out his ducky tub for the first time. He has outgrown the whale tub and needed some more room to splash and play. The second bathroom doesn't have the tub installed yet, so we just put his ducky tub on the floor of the shower in the master bath. He loved having more room to play!

Finger Painting

We decided to let Emmett finger paint today. I made some homemade finger paints out of water, flour, and food coloring. I figured it was the best option in case he decided to put it in his mouth. He loved the feel of it and loved making a big huge mess.

Daddy helped him at first

But then we just turned him loose!

 Messy boy

Sink bath after he was done. Notice the yucky flour paint all over the sink. I had to scrub the whole thing down after he went to bed.
