Emmett is 2!

How did that happen?! I can't believe it has been 2 years since I first held this squishy little bundle. I can't put in to words how much joy he has brought us. I am so blessed to be his mama.

He had a mickey mouse party on Saturday to celebrate with family and friends. He was pretty grumpy for a good portion of it, which is unlike him. Turns out he was coming down with a cold, so I think that contributed to it. He did have a blast playing with his cousins and friends though. Of course he loved his "boons"(balloons) and is still dragging those around the house.

Some decorations! Birthday banner, stars and balloons. Cutting out a bunch of stars from construction paper took a lot longer than I anticipated.

Dessert table! Cupcakes, mickey oreos, mickey rice krispies and Emmett's favorite, M&Ms(in mickey colors of course).

Cupcakes with fondant mickey mouse toppers.

The mickey oreos and rice krispies that I stayed up too late making. Those oreos were Emmett's favorite thing at his party. I think we accidently lost count of how many he had eaten and who was letting him have them. Oops!

In his Mickey birthday shirt that was made by a friend. I love it!

Playing with some of his balloons. Check out the hair!

Going through some gifts...

"Helping" put together his Servin' Surprise table.

Trying to climb inside the storage compartment. Justin is totally giving him the side eye.

Eating one of the many mickey oreos he managed to snag that day...

Advent Countdown, week 1!

We have been doing an advent countdown and activity each night in December. It's been really fun so far!

Day 1 - We made cinnamon applesauce ornaments for our tree. This one was a lot of fun!

Day 2 - Emmett decorated a felt tree. He most just wanted to run away with the pieces.

Day 3 - We made a marshmallow snowman by gluing marshmallows to paper. Emmett preferred squishing and throwing marshmallows. :)

Day 4 - Emmett got to play in a winter themed sensory bin. He really liked this one! We used packing peanuts as "snow" and threw in some other winter/Christmas themed odds and ends.

Day 5 - We decorated a cardboard tree with stickers. Emmett was so, so on this one and I didn't get any pictures.

Day 6 - Fake snow! We made fake snow out of shaving cream and baking soda. I think this one was Emmett's favorite so far! He had a blast and climbed right in the box because he loved it so much.

Day 7 - Emmett turned 2 years old and had a big birthday party today, and we were all pretty tired this evening. We snuggled on the couch and watched a Christmas movie together rather than doing an activity. Looking forward to the next week of our countdown! :)

Fall!

We were pretty busy during the fall, so I have some catching up to do! I'm going to condense it and just hit the highlights. :)

We went to Spicer's and picked apples(that we later made applesauce with). Emmett is obsessed with apples. It is his favorite fruit and he mostly sampled instead of helping pick them.

We enjoyed the fall colors and leaves...

We went to the Zoo Boo at the Detroit Zoo. Emmett loved that!

We went to Long's Orchard and picked out pumpkins...

We carved pumpkins with Emmett's cousins. Emmett painted the big pumpkin on the end because he thought gutting the pumpkins was gross. He really liked the Woody(Toy Story) pumpkin his cousin made for him!

We also went trick or treating on Halloween for the first time. It was kind of rainy and crappy weather, but Emmett LOVED it. He is definitely going to be a Halloween kid. He totally got the point of going up to the doors to get treats, and he wouldn't let go of his treat bucket for anything. When it got too heavy, he insisted on carrying it with 2 hands and had it knocking off of his knees. My pictures of that are on a different SD card so I will have to post those later!
