Today was 95+ degrees so we got out Emmett's baby pool. He had a lot of fun splashing in his little pool!

Blowing Raspberries

This is Emmett's new favorite sound to make. A lot of babies his age have been doing this for a while so I just figured he just wasn't going to do it, but he randomly started doing it a couple days ago. He was in his jumperoo while I was starting dinner and it was all I could hear. Not the best video because he usually stops doing whatever I'm trying to capture as soon as I pull my phone or camera out! :)

Strawberry Cream Cheese Cobbler

I tried this recipe to use up some more of those yummy strawberries we picked a couple weeks ago. It is seriously amazing! Super easy and so good!

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1 egg, lightly beaten 
1 cup milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 quarts whole strawberries, capped and washed
4 ounces cream cheese, cut in small pieces

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter and pour into a 9-by-13-inch glass baking dish. In a small bowl, mix together the egg, milk, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Pour directly over the butter in the baking dish, but do not stir.
Add the strawberries, arranging in a single layer as much as possible. Sprinkle cream cheese pieces over strawberries. Place in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until top is golden brown and edges are bubbling. (Crust rises up and around the fruit, but fruit will still peek out of top.)
Serve hot out of the oven with choice of topping, if desired.

Here is a little video of Emmett having some fun in his jumperoo yesterday. He can get pretty crazy in this thing, but always seems to do it when I don't have the camera or my phone handy. :)

Balloon Festival

We loaded up and headed to the Balloon Festival this afternoon. It was super packed and Emmett loved cruising around in his stroller, watching all of the people. We also stayed for the balloon launch.

Oddly enough, Emmett's favorite balloon happened to be the free ones the PNC booth was handing out to kids. He liked them so much he tried to steal one right off of another baby's stroller. Mommy had to hunt down the booth and get him his own.

We bought a weekend pass, so we might go back tomorrow if the weather is nice. I would love an elephant ear. :)

Father's Day!

Emmett and I put together a gift for Daddy. It didn't come out exactly as we planned, but it is still pretty cute. Here is Emmett giving Daddy his gift.

Traverse City - Part 2

Saturday we decided to take a drive out to the Mission Point Lighthouse.

Then we headed to the Sleeping Bear Dunes park. Emmett tried out the swing set first.

There was a lot more pool and beach time, as well as walking around town and shopping. One of my favorite stores was The Candle Factory, where I picked up a vanilla bean candle that is currently making the house smell amazing! Emmett also got a t-shirt made that I will have to snap a picture of him wearing later. We had an awesome time and have plenty of fond memories to remember our very first family vacation. :)
