Road Trip

We took a road trip to Peoria and Decatur, IL to attend the farm progress show, caterpillar visitors center and whatever else looked interesting along the way.

Emmett occupied himself on the car trip with lots of color wonder and movies on the ipad. I got him those wireless headphones just before we left and they were so worth it!

First up was the Caterpillar Visitors Center! Here is Emmett on the platform, waiting to go inside the bed of the giant dump truck to watch a movie.

After the movie he got to sit in some of the equipment!

There was another little boy there at the same time and Emmett decided he was cooler than us and wanted to hang out with him.

Trying one of the simulators

These are the tires of the giant dump truck we were inside

I couldn't get the whole thing in the picture it was so big!

Next up was a children's museum. We got free admission because of our local museum membership

Emmett loved this wall

It's Emmett!

Family handprints! Mom, dad and two Emmett hands. :)

They had a whole room of these metal dinosaurs that moved, roared and flew. Emmett was actually a little scared of them...

Getting ready to race cars with daddy

Building a new car together

We also stopped a little ice cream place along the way. Emmett got this crazy concoction of a chocolate M&M dipped cone and cookie monster ice cream.

It was HOT during our trip. We found a little splash pad to cool off at

We also stumbled across this awesome playground with tons of stuff to play on

He was so happy when he found this dinosaur under the rock wall

One of the slides

Playing the drums

This slide was really steep so he only did it once. He wasn't too sure about it!

This slide was a big hit! It took me way too many shots to get his face through the window in the slide. :)

I didn't take any pictures at the farm progress show because it was a ton of walking and I didn't want to lug around my camera in 96 degree heat. It was lots of farm equipment and snow cones though. :)
